2017-April (Courage and Faith)

Sharon Snell, President EWI Huntsville 2016-2017

Spring brings with it not only flowers, sunshine and warmer weather but two important religious holidays: Easter and Passover. Passover and Easter’s Common Themes are usually: Courage and Faith

The word Courage (also called bravery or valor) which is something that everybody wants.  Courage is an attribute of good character that makes us worthy of respect.  It is also the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear; bravery.

We will be seeking representatives to volunteer for leadership positions as a Board Member or Committee Chair for next year.  The success of EWI Huntsville is going to require Courage from you.

There is no better way to grow personally and professionally than to volunteer to lead. Sometimes people feel like they are not qualified or it might take too much time to step up to a leadership position. Sometimes people lack Courage to become more involved. It is so easy to say, “No, I am too busy” or “No, I am not qualified” or “No, I don’t want to give, I would rather fly under the radar.” It does take Courage to volunteer to lead, but it is also one of the most rewarding experiences.

You have the power and the Courage to do anything! I hope that you choose to join the Chapter leadership next year.

The end of March marks some really important milestones. Our Leadership Team will have served for six months.  Wow, the time is going very quickly and we all have had a blast serving the Chapter! By the end of March our Scholarship applicants will have turned in their applications and our Scholarship Committees will be hard at work as the judges help select the winners.

Special thank you to the entire Board that has stepped up to fulfill current vacant positions on our board.  We will continue to focus on the task at hand so that we may accomplish our goals this year:   Provide quality programs for chapter meetings, encourage membership growth, make an impact by serving our community.

I look forward to seeing you on April 4th, at the Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau for our business meeting we will discuss how to grow EWI membership? This will be a closed meeting for members only.  The business meeting will be a unique event:  Bring Your Own Plate, enjoy a family style dinner.  (Extra plates will be available for those who forget)  Please mark your calendar to join us and come together in a united effort to share our time, talents, and opinions on how to make EWI Huntsville the most impactful Chapter in the future!

I am thankful for the opportunity to lead this remarkable Chapter!
